Instrument path

Ukulele

Demo preview. The lesson paths, fees, and saved progress on this site are not the school's final offer.

A ukulele on coral and teal cloth

A shorter first path for the ukulele. Four strings and small chords make the early changes easier than on guitar. You still start with the hold and the string names, then one chord, then a slow strum, then a change. The path stops at three chords in a row. It is not a songbook.

First lessons. A soprano, concert, or tenor ukulele all work.

Instrument film · 0:12A short demo film for this instrument. It is not a teacher on camera. Each lesson below has its own film.

You will learn

  • Name the four open strings
  • Place a C chord cleanly
  • Strum down once per beat
  • Change to a second chord on time
  • Play three chords in a row without a long gap

At home

  • A ukulele
  • A clip-on tuner, if you have one
  • A phone or a laptop for Zoom
