Demo preview. The lesson paths, fees, and saved progress on this site are not the school's final offer.

An acoustic guitar on teal and saffron silk

A first path on an acoustic guitar. You learn how to hold it, what the six open strings are called, how one finger makes a clear note, and how to keep one chord down while the strum stays slow. Chord changes come last, and only between two shapes. Songs with full strumming patterns wait until the change is quiet and even.

Sharvil Gandhi teaches guitar at Naad Shala. He also teaches percussion.

First lessons. A nylon or steel acoustic guitar is enough.

Instrument film · 0:12A short demo film for this instrument. It is not a teacher on camera. Each lesson below has its own film.

You will learn

At home

  • A pick, or your fingers
  • Headphones and a phone or laptop for Zoom
